31 MayAre There Any Sites That I Can Get A Domain And Hosting From For VERY Cheap, Or Even Better Yet: FREE?

A frequently-asked query:

I’m looking to buy a particular .com domain name that’s listed as available, however I’m on a budget, I’m also looking for hosting.

If you know of a company/site, can you list it here for me to review, and list it’s pro’s and con’s.

I’m looking for the following features with my domain registration/hosting:

Multiple email addresses, (around 10 should suffice).
Construction tool and HTML editor, (my knowledge of HTML and CSS is intermediate at best, but I do have some widgets and custom HTML that I would like to impliment in conjunction with the construction tool).
Very cheap, or free, with no advertising.

Thanks for your suggestions.

30 MayHow can I host multiple websites with one hosting account?

A frequently-asked query:

I want to build several small websites (1-2 pages) for a few domains. Is there any way to buy one hosting package and share it between many domains?

I have used yahoo (favorite!) and go daddy for hosting. It seems with them I have to buy a hosting package for each domain. Is there any way to get around this?

ps. I also realize that I could just forward these domain names to pages hosted with another website account – that is not the answer I am looking for. I want each domain to appear to be its own unique website (to the search engines as well!)

Thanks!

28 MayBest Web Hosting for Small Business and Multiple Domains?

A frequently-asked query:

Hello,

I know this has been asked before, but I’ve searched many web sites and reviews and I’m still confused. So, I’ve narrowed it down to Hostmonster, Bluehost, and Lunarpages. I’m a pretty technical guy, but I’m looking for a reliable web host for multiple domains that some will use databases. I’m not so concerned about a "simple" web site creator, as opposed to one that follows the HTML & CSS standards. I was going to go with 1&1 after seeing their huge ads in PC Magazine until I read the reviews. Thus, I’m not so concerned about cheap, just a service that is reliable, professional, and popular. In other words, what service would a developer recommend and use?

Thanks,
Brett
This is what concerns me: http://www2.jeffcroft.com/blog/2006/feb/27/11-internet-is-the-devil/.

And then I just happened to stumble across DreamHost: http://www.dreamhost.com/aboutus.html. They are employee-owned, which in and of itself impresses me about a company. Any customer reviews on this company?

27 MayCan anyone give advice about web hosting for multiple clients?

A frequently-asked query:

I create websites for small non-profits, taking care of all the web hosting currently in GoDaddy. Is there a solution where I can host many websites, with their own domain names, yet all be in my one web hosting account so that I can pay, manage, etc. without creating multiple accounts for each client. Also, I am not bound to GoDaddy as a host so alternatives are welcome. Thanks!

25 May10PTS! Hosting a Website and domain off of my computer? 10PTS!?

A frequently-asked query:

Right, I want to host multiple websites off of my very own computer. I sort of can do it. I have got WAMPSERVER 2.0a, I can access it with 192.168.1.144, how can I access it on another computer not on the same network as me? How can I get it to be "JimiB95.com" (for example), hosting off of my computer is free so I don’t want a domain off of a random site which you have to pay for (I don’t mind other sites tho, as long as you don’t have to pay). Another Question is "How can I host multiple websites with multiple domains from 1 computer?"
Anyone who can answer all of these questions right will get 10PTS. If someone’s answer satisfys me and I don’t get all my questions done, they’ll get 10PTS. Please if you only know the answer to 1, write it up there aswell please.
Any other helpful hints would be nice too please.

21 MayHosting multiple domains with Yahoo! hosting account?

A frequently-asked query:

I just signed up for Yahoo! hosting and have a feeling that I made a big mistake… I have more than one domain I would like to host, unfortunately, the only way to do this seems to be via forwarding them to sub domains linked to the primary domain associated with my Yahoo! hosting package. Do I have any other options? Domain forwarding via masking is simply not an acceptable solution, considering their asking price…
