Answer: In shared hosting, some web hosts like Hostgator allows you to host multiples domains. however, this domains, are ‘addon domains’ which means they are redirected to sub domain folders, and not easy to move around. On the other hand, a reseller’s account allows you to create multiple shared hosting accounts with different domains. Thus gives you more power to control over your websites.  Some reseller accounts do give you different IP addresses for different cPanel accounts created, but you have no control over which IP to use when you create a cPanel account. This fact has been tested using Hostgator over 3 months period. You may not get to use new IPs immediately but they will let you get on a different IP after a few weeks, probably once the one server has been too crowded. When looking at a shared account..You can find some providers that will offer the ability to host multiple domains.
one that comes to mind is: hostgator.com they provide the ability to host multiple domains on one shared account.
Now a disadvantage to this is that all of your domains are "add on" domains. They redirect to sub domain folders, and aren’t as easy to move around etc.
Now a re-seller plan, allows you to setup your own shared accounts. Some as mentioned are unlimited, some are limited to a number of domains. They’re still on the same IP address, and potentially still on the same server as multiple shared hosting accounts that other people have but it gives you a lot more control over you websites (nameservers, etc….) Especially if you’re using any form of CMS (content management system). Another benefit of reseller hosting is its durability. You will have less problems when hosting a lot of domains.
I’d recommend getting a re-seller plan if you have more than 5 websites. A couple that come to mind to check out are.
