14 MarWhy do some affiliates use reseller web hosting instead of shared?

confused|multi domain hosting A frequently-asked query:

” My question has to do with affiliate internet marketing. For years I’ve used one shared web hosting account and I create multiple add-on domains on it for all my various sites. I know it’s not a good idea to have all of your domains on one server because search engines can see they all come from the same IP address if you link the sites and if you’re server goes down, all of your sites are down. No site access = no money coming in.

I see that several of the top power affiliates get themselves a reseller hosting account so they can create individual websites rather than add-on domains, but they’re still all on the same IP address and if the server goes down, all the sites will be down.

Reseller hosting is considerably more expensive than shared hosting and I know you can offset the cost by selling accounts and domain names from it, but let’s say you don’t sell to other people.

So what’s the advantage of using reseller hosting instead of shared hosting for affiliate marketing?

Also, yesterday I was looking at some reseller hosting. I need to do some more research, but tell me if something like this is in the ballpark or too expensive. These are just the high level features, but bascially, anything you can do on a shared hosting account, you can do on this so I certainly wouldn’t be losing anything.

.95/mo
cPanel
25 GB diskspace
250 GB data transfer (both of those are far more than I currently use for my 40ish domains)
free eNom to sell domain names

So, why would I want to use a reseller account instead of shared hosting? “

14 FebWhich is the best webhost?

A typical query:

I need to know which is the best webhost in terms of reliability and uptime, I need a webhost that has: at least 50 GB of space, Unlimited Domains, at least 100 GB of bandwidth. I also need one that has multiple plans so if i use up all the space or use up too much bandwidth i can upgrade it. I need one with a option of dedicated hosting when the site gets to busy, and one more thing i need at least 10 MySQL databases
Also it has to be a paid host. And nothing that is unlimited everything because that is serious overselling, it can have like unlimited bandwidth or MySQL databases, but not everything unlimited because there is no such thing as unlimited they have to stop me somewhere. Also i was looking at hostgator, has anyone tried that one, and if so is it good.

13 FebCan I forward port 80 to one computer on my network without affecting the others' internet connection?

A common question:

I am going to host a website on a desktop computer connected to a broadband (always on) connection and I read that I need to forward port 80 so that remote computers’ traffic isn’t directed to the other computers on my network. If I forward port 80 to one computer, will the others lose there ability to connect to the internet?

Also, I don’t know if I can ask multiple questions in one, but these are related. How do I associate a domain name I register with, say, GoDaddy, with my home external IP? I also read that you have to use DynDNS because ISPs change your external every so often, but I don’t know that you can use a DynDNS account with a website that isn’t one they already registered i.e. yoursite.theirsite.net.

Thanks

08 AprCan I register a domain for short time?

Question about multiple domain: I want to register several domains for shorter terms: 3, 6 months and then let it go thereafter. Is there a website that can hold multiple domains in one hosting for shorter terms? Or any hosting that could give me cheap mass (10 or more) domains?
Part 2:

If that doesn’t work, then i need a website where I could register multiple (even unlimited) domains and point it to my hosting. I am looking towards adding 1-2 domains/ month. So a website where I could get a deal for doing something like this. Thanks so far!
